  • Sample Exams, Exam Hints

    The following are now available:

    • Exam hints
    • Sample "final practical exam"
    • Sample "final written exam"

    See "Week 12" under "Lectures" in the left panel.

    We will discuss exam hits and these sample exams in the Monday lecture (of Week-12). We will also discuss solutions for the assignments, and any other questions you may want us to discuss.

  • Practical Exam (in Week-13 lab)

  • Mid Semester Exam

    Mid Semester exam is now marked. You can collect it by clicking the tab " Collect Submission " on the following page:

    Please ignore other tabs on the above page, they may not display correct information because the mid semester exam is submitted and marked differently to normal assignments.

  • Assignment-1 marked

    Assignment-1 is now marked. You can collect your submission/marks by clicking on the tab " Collect Submission " on Assignment-1 page . Consider the feedback, if any, and address them before submitting Assignment-2. If you have any questions, please send an email to your tutor.

    The following are some general comments (thanks to David for the first 4 comments below):

    1. DO NOT rename the classes or methods given in the specification. Your code will not compile properly for testing and the auto marker will give you 0.
    2. Remove all code you used for testing (such as testing methods) before you submit.
    3. int/int will return an int while double/int or double/double will return a double.
    4. Test your code with as many test cases as possible, and double check that the results are as expected.
    5. Add comments for methods and important control statements (for example, important "if" and loop statements).

    As mentioned earlier, now the deadline for Assignment-2 is 11pm Saturday 08 October.

    Week-10 Lab is now available. Your tutor will provide you brief intro at the start of the lab on how to approach/solve the problems, please ask any question you may have or clarifications required.

  • Mid-semester exam: lecture notes as PDF files, No other material is allowed.

    The Mid-semester practical exam is “open book”. You may use the lecture notes available as PDF files on your desktop during the exam. However, please note that No other material is allowed . Also note that you cannot bring in your printed lecture notes.

    I have now added instructions on how to submit the assignment, see the section " Submission Instructions " in the assignment specification below:
