Consultation Sessions

The LiC is available for consultation sessions this week as per the following schedule:

1. Wednesday 14th August 2019 3-5pm CSE consultation room 403

2. Friday 16th August 2019 3-5pm CSE consultation room 508

These would be the last consultation sessions available.

Dear COMP3331/9331 Students,

Thanks to everyone who have already provided feedback about the course. However, the participation rate is still very low. Could I please request everyone to provide your feedback via the myExperience survey page . Please complete both parts of the survey before the deadline of 15th August 2019.

Please note that your responses are completely confidential and no students are identified. Tell us what you think and give us a grade!

Assignment Submission Deadline is Extended

The deadline for assignment submission has been extended till 5pm Sunday 11th August 2019. This is the final deadline, any submission after this deadline will attract appropriate late penalty marks. No submission will be accepted after 5pm Tuesday 13th August 2019.

Lecture on Monday 12th August 2019

Our last lecture would be on Monday 12th August 2019 during the regular time of 4-6 pm in CLB7. We will talk about the final exam and solve some practice problems together.

Mid-term Exam on 8th July 2019 between 5-6 pm

The mid-term exam will be held on 8 th July (Monday, Week 6) during regular lecture hours (5-6pm).

We will have a regular lecture between 4-4:45pm. Please proceed to the correct room after the lecture according to the following seating arrangement based on your last names (This does not applies to students who have sent us their disability support letters):

CLB 7 (regular lecture theatre): COMP3331/COMP9331, Last Names: [A - M]

K-D23-201, Mathews Theatre A: COMP3331/COMP9331, Last Names: [N - Z]

All students (including WEB stream students) MUST attend the exam. It will contribute a weightage of 20% towards your final marks.

The exam is closed book. No laptops, phones, electronic devices & smart watches are allowed.

DO NOT forget to bring the following:

• A 2B pencil (and an eraser) as you cannot fill the answer sheet with pen
• Your student ID card (No card No exam)
• UNSW approved calculator

Assignment technical consultations

Dear All,

Please find below the timetable for technical consultations for assignment. Technical consultation is where you can learn the concepts behind the assignment, i.e., any question which is not specific to coding will be answered in this consultation. As an example, if your question is “I still am not clear on what exactly shall I implement?”, then this is the right consultation for you. We will announce the timetable for programming consultations soon.

Tuesday 9th July, 11am-1pm, K17, Level 4, Room 403 (Lecturer In Charge)

Thursday 11th July, 4 p.m. - 6 p.m., K17, Level 4, Room 402 (Ali Dorri)

Tuesday 16th July, 4 p.m. - 6 p.m., K17, Level 4, Room 403 (Ali Dorri)

Extra Consultation

The LiC will be available for an extra consultation session on Tuesday 2nd July between 11am to 1pm at CSE consultation room 403. This is in addition to the regular consultation session on each Wednesday between 3pm to 5pm.

Assignment Specification is Released

The specification for the programming assignment is now available (under Course Work > Assignment)

The deadline is 5pm Friday, 9th August 2019 (Week 10).

Details of extra consultations for programming languages will be made available soon.

Lab 1 starts next week, i.e., week 2. Given that next Monday is a public holiday, we rescheduled the Monday labs only for week 2 as below:

The submission deadline for lab 1 is 12 noon 24th June.

Please go through the course outline before our first lecture on Monday 3rd June 2019 1600-1800 Hours in CLB7.

Labs will commence in the 2nd week.
