Welcome to Week 5. We have the following updates:
1. Lectures: We will explore the TCP protocol this week
2. Tutorial: This week, we will have Tutorial No 1. This is scheduled in the regular lab slots. This tutorial will help in preparing for the upcoming midterm exam.
3. Mid-term exam: The midterm exam is scheduled for 27th October between 2:15 pm and 3:30 pm. A sample midterm exam will be made available on Inspera. This sample exam will remain open between 20/10/25 12:00 Hrs and 25/10/25 midnight. You can only attempt the exam once, and the duration is 75 minutes.
4. Assignment. Note the assignment help sessions scheduled for Week 5. In Week 7, we will have an Assignment consultation session.
5. Labs: Labs will commence again in Week 7.

Welcome to Week 4. This is a short week due to the public holiday. This week, we will cover the principles of reliable data transport as a precursor to discussions on the TCP protocol.
Assignment specifications are now available. Please go through the specifications carefully to understand the requirements.
There are no Labs scheduled for this week. Labs will resume in Week 7. Next week, we will have our first tutorial session (in the lab hours). This activity will help you prepare for the midterm exam scheduled in Week 7.

This week, we will finish our discussions on the Application layer and, if time permits, start covering the Transport layer.
For labs, Lab No. 2 is scheduled for this week, and Lab 1 submissions are due today at 10 am.

There are several non-assessed activities for you to complete.
a. Several problem-solving questions are accessible on the Homework Questions page. You are strongly encouraged to work through these questions. These are not assessed. We will post answers to these questions later on.
b. There are several questions marked "Students to Discuss Solutions". These are left for you to work on. We are happy to provide feedback on your attempts, but we will not provide ready solutions. Working through these questions will provide good practice for the exams. Please discuss them on the Discourse forum.
c. Weekly quizzes under the Activities. Please attempt these questions. You can only attempt the quizzes once and will get the solution once the quiz activity is closed.

Welcome to COMP3331/9331, 25T3 . We’re excited to have you in the course and hope you're looking forward to getting started with enthusiasm.
The course is being offered in a hybrid mode. All lectures will be in person. Face-to-face lectures will be recorded and available through Echo360 link in Moodle. Please read the course outline carefully.
All labs and consultations are in-person. The exams, both the Midterm and Final, will use the Inspera exam platform. However, the mid-term exam is non-invigilated, open book, while the final exam is invigilated (on campus) and closed book.
Please check your enrolment and attend the appropriate lab class. If you have enrolment issues, please get in touch with the Nucleus Student Hub. The course staff do not have access to the enrolment system.
Our first lecture will be held today, Monday, 15th Sep from 14:00 - 16:00 in the Law Theatre.
Labs will commence in Week 2 , even if your timetable indicates they start in Week 1. Details are on the Labs page.
