Hi everyone,
I've put up a solution to the sample exam on the exam info page here . If you've not already done so, I strongly suggest working through the questions before looking at the solutions.

Hi everyone,
Unfortunately, I have to help run an exam for another subject this Friday. The exam runs all day, so I've rescheduled the consultation to:
The consultations next week are still scheduled as before.
Rob
Hi everyone,
There will be exam consultations at these times and places:
I'm still watching the forum too, if you have any exam related enquiries.
The marks for assignment 2 have been released alongside a mark for the practical component of this course (assignments and quizzes). Please check all your marks to make sure there are none unexpectedly missing.
Rob
Hi All,
Please take five minutes to fill out the myExperience surveys and help us improve the course for its next offering (by providing any feedback!). You can follow the link that is given on Moodle, or use:
https://unsw.bluera.com/unsw/ to access and complete the surveys. We use the information to improve our courses and improve the overall experience for the students, so your feedback is valuable and very much appreciated.
All the best with your study for the exam period
Hi everyone,
So there's been some confusion about the due date of quiz 5. It's my fault as I didn't put the right date into WebCMS when I released it. I originally intended to have it due at the end of this week, but it currently says it's due at the end of next week. I would just leave it with this due date, but unfortunately, we're not supposed to have assessment tasks due after the end of term. So as not to be unfair to anyone who thought they had an extra week to do it, here's what will happen:
This ensures that attempting quiz 5 can only give you a higher or the same mark as not doing it, but gives people the option to skip it if they're busy preparing for exams next week.
I would suggest going through the questions for quiz 5, even if you do it after the due date, as it's good practice for the exam.

Hi everyone,
The results of the vote for the best game in the course are in. Without further ado, the winners are:
Congratulations to these three students for creating interesting games. I consider trying to write a game as valuable experience for any programmer and I'm pleased with the success you had.
By the way, if you've not done so already, please book a time to demonstrate your project . The slots are filling up fast.
Rob
P.S. Neither myself nor anyone involved in this course endorses the throwing of cats :-)
Dear All,
Please use the link below to select a time slot for the project demonstration days. In total there are 63 slots that you can choose from, 51 slots on Monday 12 August and 12 slots on Tuesday 13 August.
!!! Please only book one slot per group!!!
You should use your ZiD to login into Moodle and book your slot:

Good luck with your project.
Hi everyone,
This is just a quick notice with a few pieces of information for those who might be be behind on lectures.
The assignment 2 demos will run on Monday and Tuesday of week 11. The Monday demos will run from 11am-2pm and the Tuesday ones from 4pm to 6pm. I expect most people to demonstrate on Monday with only those who are unavailable then demonstrating on the Tuesday. You will need to be available for a 10 minute demonstration during one of these periods. You'll be able to pick your time slot later this week. If you can't attend any available slot, let me know and we'll try to come to an alternative arrangement. See today's lecture for more info regarding demonstration.
Voting is still open for the best game in the course. I encourage you to take a look at all of them and pick your favourite. Voting closes at the end of this week.
During tomorrow's lecture we will be discussing the exam and doing some revision. Please bring any questions you have in relation to revision of the course content or anything you want me to (briefly) go over. Owing to assignment demonstrations, tomorrow is the last lecture for the course. There are no lectures in week 10 or 11.
Rob
Hi everyone,
This is just to remind you to create your assignment 2 group on the assignment website. You will need a group in order to submit, even if you're working alone. If you create it by Wednesday, then you should be able to submit from Thursday onward. If you join a group after that, you may have to wait a while before you can submit. Unfortunately, groups aren't automatically copied from WebCMS to give, so you'll need to wait for someone to do it.
Rob
Hi All,
Todays consultation is in G01 rather than G02, due to lighting failures.
Rob
Hi everyone,
For those that may be behind on the lectures, assignment 2 is available on the course website. As it is an assignment done in pairs and the first milestone is at the end of week 7, I recommend you try to find a partner as soon as possible. If you're unsure how to find one, the course forum has a page where you can put out a request for a partner or see other's requests. You can also ask your tutor if they know anyone else in the tutorial looking for a partner.
Once you have found your partner, please create an assignment group on the course website by clicking on Groups on the left hand menu. Submission has not yet been enabled for the assignment, but once it is, you will need to be a member of a group before you can submit, even if you choose to work alone. It is, unfortunately, a manual process to copy the groups from WebCMS into the submission system (give). We will be doing this periodically, but creating a group at the last minute may result in you not being able to submit on time.
Rob
Due to the power outage, the consultation today had to be postponed. I've rescheduled it to 4:45pm this afternoon in K17 204. If anyone is unable to make this new time, I'll be monitoring the forum for any assignment related questions.
Hi everyone,
Just letting you know that I've arranged a consultations for this course on Friday at 2PM in K17 G02. They will be run each week from now until week 10.
Rob
Hi everyone,
This notice is just to let you know that:
Rob
Hello everyone and welcome to computer graphics for 2019!
I'm Rob. You'll meet me in the lecture on Monday, if you don't know me already. Ali Darejeh is the course admin.
In addition to lectures, tutorials also start next week. I've had a few requests from people wanting to move their tutorial time to one that is currently full. My advice in these instances is to keep checking and wait to see if spots open up. There tends to be some movement in week 1.
Some of you may have noticed already that there is an optional lab exercise for week 1. This exercise is to help refamiliarise you with Java (for those that may have forgotten it) and to give you a feel for the libraries and tools you will be using in your assignments. The first part of the exercise you can do now, but the second part requires knowledge of material from the lectures on Monday and Tuesday. You're more than welcome to attempt it beforehand if you wish though.
To help you with the lab exercise, I will be running two help sessions on Thursday 3-4PM and Friday 2-3PM in the piano lab (K14, behind the physics theatre). I recommend you try to do the lab after the lecture and, if you have any problems, you can either ask your tutor in your tutorial or come along to one of the help sessions. The help sessions are only in week 1.
Happy graphics programming,
Rob
