I have had a few requests for extensions and there are several groups working on a second demo for early next week. In recognition of these facts, I have decided to extend the deadline for the final project report until MIDNIGHT of Monday 6 May .
Please upload your presentations from today as well as a zip of your source code (SW, HLS input and RTL code, as applicable) to your project wiki.
I will contact teams that are preparing a follow-up demo individually.
Finally, please take 5 minutes to tell us about your COMP4601 experience using myExperience .
Please return your lab kits to me ASAP.
As foreshadowed in the introductory lecture (slide 50), final project presentations and demonstrations are scheduled from 11am next Tuesday.
Presentations will commence at 11am in the Brass lab . These may take up to 15 mins per team and should focus on your aims, solution approach, results and conclusions. Please take into account the architecture of the room i.e. your presentations will be viewed on one of four display screens in the room. Please post your slides to your project wiki.
Demos will commence at 2pm and will be held in the neighbouring Strings lab . Alex & I will spend about 20-25 mins with each team to have you demonstrate your solution in action and to discuss your project with you. Please let me know if you have any timing constraints and wish to be seen at a particular time period.
Final reports are due on 1 May . These should be prepared as a wiki page(s). Reports should be 10-15 pages long when rendered using " print view " and printed on A4 paper. The report should re-package the previous reports, address any comments and add your results and conclusions. See slides 49-50 of the introductory lecture and the final report guidelines for your Project .
Please zip up your project code and provide this as a downloadable archive accessible from your project wiki . Please note that I may provide your code as a basis for projects that extend or build on your work in future years, so please bear this in mind when preparing your code for archive.
The project progress marks and custom IP lab marks have been loaded and should be accessible in the usual manner.
Seminars will complete next Tuesday. Stay tuned for updates on the final presentations and demos on Tuesday 30 April.
I hope you manage to have a small relaxing break over the next 4 days!
Oliver
