    Hi all,

    We have created a sample exam environment. You can access the sample exam by following these steps:

    1. Download TigerVNC: https://tigervnc.org/

    2. VNC server: vlab.cse.unsw.edu.au:5920

    3. Login with:

    username: cs6453vx

    password: Pr@ct1c3


    4. Use your zID and password to log in to the Virtual Exam Environment.

    5. You should be able to view this:

    Right-click for lecture slides, exam paper information, file browser,...and more. Remember to click 'save' after editing the .txt to save your answers.

    Please let me know if you cannot access the sample exam.

    As mentioned in the lectures, for the practice exercises, please work on the problem sets at the back of " Cryptography: Theory and Practice (4th Edition) " by Douglas R. Stinson and Maura B. Paterson, published by Routledge.Some information about the exam was discussed in the last lecture on Week 10. You can access the recording here: Week 10 lecture recording

    Today Monday 9th June is a public holiday. So we will do a replacement class on Wednesday 1-3pm. The in-person class will be in K-H20-701 - CivEng 701. The lecture will be live streamed on Teams. Recording will also be available as usual.

    We will not have Monday 2nd June's class due to an official commitment. We will start our course on Tuesday, 3rd June. I will see you at 12 pm in UNSW.

    Monday's class will be organised on Wednesday, 4th June, 11am-1 pm, at K-H20-G8 - CivEng G8. I will send you the meeting room details. It will also be streamed online for those who can't join and also recorded.

    Welcome to the course COMP6453. I will be lecturing this course this term. We have an excellent teaching team with Nhi Nguyen (admin), James Liu, Alex Vong. We are looking forward to help you learn and enjoy this course.

    Lectures will be face-to-face in AinswthG02. All lectures will be recorded. All tutorials are in person.

    Details about the course are in the Course Outline .

    Tutorials will start in Week 2. (No tutorial in Week 1 ).

    Pre-reading in Week 0-1: Chapter 2 from Handbook of Applied Cryptography (please check out the Tutorials tab).

    To help us know you better, can you please complete this survey by 29 May, 2025, 10 pm?
