  • COMP6714 final exam is on Moodle now.

Posted by Raymond Wong Thursday 01 December 2022, 01:04:12 PM.

The final exam is now visible on Moodle. You may start reading its instructions, though you cannot start attempting the questions until 1:30pm (AEDT).

Please read the exam instructions carefully before you start attempting the exam.

This exam has been checked and attempted by two tutors. We're not expecting any questions, and if any, the answer is probably to be "the question is as it is written". Nevertheless, if you have questions, please email cs6714@cse.unsw.edu.au via a UNSW email account during the exam.

  • Project marks released

We have sent your project result to your CSE/UNSW email. If you have any questions, please follow the instructions in the email.

  • Project marking script

Posted by Raymond Wong Friday 25 November 2022, 12:28:04 AM.

We are finalizing the marks (almost there) and they shall be completed by tomorrow sometime. It will then be emailed to you tomorrow. Once it's done, I will post another Notice.

Meanwhile, you can check and run the marking test scripts by:

    1) log in to a CSE linux machine and go to the folder containing your index.py and search.py

    2) run ~cs6714/reuters/autotest

Note that the script assumes that your index.py will create a new given index folder called idx. Some of your submissions did not do so and we had to manually create the directory. So if you are one of them, you will need to create the folder manually every time before you run the script above.

If you have any questions, post them in the Ed Forums (or come to the special consultations).

  • The Final Exam

Posted by Raymond Wong Friday 18 November 2022, 05:22:28 PM.

Your final exam is scheduled for Thursday 1 December 2022 13:30-15:30 (AEDT).

Carefully read through the instructions (i.e., the exam conditions and structure) on the exam paper before you start.

If you have clarification questions, please email cs6714@cse.unsw.edu.au via a UNSW email account (in case external emails are filtered) during the exam.

Same as normal exam papers, this exam has been checked by at least one other staff member. We rarely got questions during previous exams, and if we did, the answer would usually be " the question is as it is written ". We're not expecting it to be any different in this exam.

The 2-hr exam paper will be released and available in Moodle . Further details about the exam and other important information related to COMP6714 have been discussed in the last live lecture. Please watch the lecture recording before you post any questions .

I have made a sample exam paper available (in Moodle) to help you prepare for the exam. While most of its questions are just repurposing of from the assignment and the lectures (so you can find their answers), the main purpose of the sample paper is for you to get familiar with the exam format and style, so you can prepare and ask any general questions in advance (Please post your questions in the Ed forum ). Read through the instructions before you start, e.g., you can only attempt it once in the actual exam.

Please note that consultations are still on for this week. We will announce later regarding special consultation sessions (as mentioned in the last live lecture) in case you have questions when you study for the exam.
