I just checked Grieg and there are a very large number of PostgreSQL servers running, but (apparently) not a lot of people logged in to Grieg and using those servers. You were asked to shut down your PostgreSQL servers when not in use . It seems that some people aren't doing this. The effect is that people who want to work on their assignments can't, because some of you couldn't be bothered to do what we asked. I note that some people appear to be running multiple servers, with the worst offenders running 8 servers at once! A solution would be to kick everyone off grieg and re-boot it, but I'm sure you don't want that. The other solution is for people who aren't using their servers to shut them down . Thanks for your cooperation in this.
