  • Update of Project

Posted by Qingyuan Linghu Wednesday 21 July 2021, 12:20:40 PM.

Hi all, we have two updates regarding the project.

    • For Q1-a), the implementation of ‘coreDecompisition’, we RECOMMEND you return the array of each node’s coreness with the order of the vertex name (0 - 14) instead of the position of each vertex in the ‘adj_list’ of ‘SimpleGraph’. This is not a compulsory requirement as we will check your codes in detail.
    • For Q3, we update the code template ‘q3.py’, please use the new version. Note that, the new version DOES NOT affect the code section you might have implemented before. The updated codes help you better understand and check the training process.

  • Regarding Question 2 of Project

Posted by Jerry He Monday 19 July 2021, 03:44:17 PM.

    Dear students,

We are aware that performance of the CNN may vary on different machines. You are allowed to experiment different combinations of learning rates and the number epochs to boost your performance. However, you will ONLY be marked based on the correctness of completing the SimpleCNN class, instead of the performance. We have updated the project description accordingly.

    Best regards,

    9312 Teaching Team.

  • Lecture notes updated

Posted by Kai Wang Monday 21 June 2021, 04:58:28 PM.

    Dear students,

We have updated the page 17 and its following examples of the lecture note Path and Reachability Queries (Continue) . The previous version states that only non-tree edges are considered. In fact, both tree-edges and non-tree edges need to be considered when they are used to update the intervals. This is because the tree-edges are also used to pass on the reachability information, as illustrated on page 25. This will also be explained in the incoming tutorials.

  • Welcome to T2 2021 offering of Data Analytics for Graphs

Posted by Yu Hao Sunday 30 May 2021, 09:43:07 PM, last modified Sunday 30 May 2021, 11:32:20 PM.

    Dear Students,

First, we would like to welcome everyone and we hope all of you are looking forward to learning about data analytics for graphs.

In this notice, we will briefly outline how we plan to run the course in T2 2021.

Due to the COVID-19 situation, we will be running most of our course activities online. In the context of our course, this means lectures, consultations and tutorial sessions are done via a mixture of online platforms and tools.

Course management: We use WebCMS3 ( https://webcms3.cse.unsw.edu.au/COMP9312/21T2/ ) to manage the course (the very system you are reading this notice from). All announcements, lecture notes, tutorial notes, assignment spec, etc. are going to be posted here. Moodle is used to provide access to online live lecture and lecture recordings.

Lectures (lectures start from Week 1): We will deliver lectures live online at the scheduled lecture time - 15:00 to 17:00, Monday and Tuesday (Sydney time). We understand that many students are overseas with different time zones and hope this will not cause too much inconvenience to you. The reason we want to use live lecture delivery is to make the teaching as interactive as possible as I will be able to take questions during the lecture. In case you find it difficult to join the online lecture, you can always access the recorded video afterwards.

All lectures will be delivered and recorded via Blackboard Collaborate in Moodle. You may log into Moodle ( https://moodle.telt.unsw.edu.au ) first, find our course, click " lectures and recordings ", click Menu (in up left corner), click "Sessions" to join a live lecture or "Recordings" to access the recorded lecture.

Tutorials (tutorials start from Week 2):

Detailed tutorial notes will be provided, and you are expected to follow the guide using your own computer. We will schedule online tutorial sessions throughout the course (via Blackboard Collaborate) and there will be tutors present to help you. Similar to lectures, you are able to access via Moodle. All online tutorials will be recorded.

Consultation (consultation starts from Week 2): weekly consultation will also be presented via Blackboard Collaborate. You may join the consultation if you have any questions regarding the course. Consultations will be recorded. You may join via Moodle.

Assessment : All assignments, projects and final exam will be conducted offline. Generally we allow 2-3 weeks for you to work on assignments and projects.

You can start using the "Q and A Forum" page to ask questions and discuss with your fellow students. Tutors will visit the forum regularly to answer questions. Feel free to ask questions and talk amongst your fellow students in the class.

Looking forward to meeting you all soon.
