Hi all,
We noticed that there are still some group changes after the random assignments this Tuesday.
This is notice that, all changes in groups must be approved by the admin team(cs9321@cse.unsw.edu.au) at this stage; And since WebCMS3 groups are not automatically sync'd with student records , any unauthorized changes can result in issues in your marks and this is also subjected to penalties.
Due to UNSW's trimester, you might have no enough time to prepare your final exam. So we release the sample exam right now, which you can use it for the final exam preparation. More information about final exam will be discussed on week10's lecture. Solution to sample paper will be released later.
Hi all, this is a notice that give is now enabled for assn3.
Any change in groups in WebCMS3 will not be sync'd with Give, and shall be reported to us.
For those students who don't have group. We have random assign a group to you. Please check it on group field.
Hi all, this is a notice that Quiz 5 is now available.
After discussion, we add another track for the predict part of your project. Right now, you can choose one of the track to finish it. Do not do both tracks.
After discussion and talking with some students, we realized that there exist an ambiguity in q2 in quiz2
"The question should have been specific to be " Given a DataFrame, apply the z-score normalisation if possible, else keep the column unchanged ". The question is misleading and no one would expect the hidden condition applied, and even shown on the lecture, we see that we have a lambda expression which we could not expect."
Thanks Michael Tran for pointing this out, and everyone will get 1 mark for this question.
As the assignment one is marked by all tutors, so there may have some problems on your mark. If you believe there is a problem in your mark, please come to tomorrow's consultation from 6pm-8pm on Lyre. Chaoran and I will resolve those issues.
Marks for Assignment 1 and Quiz 4 are now available.
You can check by https://webcms3.cse.unsw.edu.au/COMP9321/19T1/users/grades
Should you have any concerns, please contact us.
Hi all this is a reminder that quiz 4 will due in around 50 min. Till now we got 207/227 responses.
The group project spec(Assignment3) is released. The give submission will be enabled once the teams are finalised. Due on 23:59:59 Sunday, 14th Apr,2019
Due to power outage last night around 1:30am, all cse systems are down until now.
After discussion, we decide to extend due for assignment 2 and quiz 4 for 24 hours accordingly.
So new due for assignment 2 will be 23:59:59 Sunday 24th of March, 2019; Quiz 4 will be 23:00:00 Monday 25th of March, 2019.
Cheers,
CS9321 teaching team
Hi all,
So far we have adjusted marks for quizzes and in summary:
Added 1 mark for all who submitted in Quiz 1 for Q5;
Added 1 mark for all who submitted in Quiz 2 for Q3;
Please allow some time for system to synchronize, and if your marks have not been changed in 24 hours, please contact us.
Regards,
Chaoran
Assignment 3 spec will release later this week. Group size is 4 . You can choose anyone who enrolled in this course. And please register your group on https://webcms3.cse.unsw.edu.au/COMP9321/19T1/groups/.
Update: You can make a group less than 4 if you want.
As there is no marking distribution on spec, so we release the roughly scheme for assignment 2 under the assignment 2 folder.
For those students who may not finish the assignment 2, we want to make some clarity about the q1 and q6 to make your life easier. For q1 the <collection> in your API can be any string you defined which means you can make you URL like /hello/<id> or /bye/<id> or something else. Just make a comment on your swagger page. For q6, as the note said you need to consider about the case if the country code is null, after discussion, you can ignore this restrictions which means if you put the “country” which country code is null will not lose mark, if you only put the “country” which have country code will not lose mark as well. For those students who already finished, this clarification should not affect your code.
We upload some indicators that you can test. Also, the SQLAlchemy is optional not necessary.
A quick reminder that today, 17 March is the last day to
withdraw from courses without being charged fees for them(by 11:59).
To maintain full-time status, it is safest to remain enrolled
in at least 2 courses in T1 (and you would then need to take
3 courses in each of T2 and T3).
As we made a mistake of the code template, so the database name is: data.db
Keep the entries. But not included in your sorting on q6
Due on 3.18 11pm AEDT. You can only submit once.
If you start working on the assignment 2, you will find some value for 2018 is null. It's fine, just keep it.
Quiz 2 will due night, 176/230 response. We will start marking your assignments soon
Assignment 2 is now available and the due is 23:59:59, Sat 23 Mar 2019.
You may want to start working on this earlier, as it involves third part API and the source API will ban your (and tutors') IP addresses if you send too many requests.
Cheers,
Chaoran
Hi all,
Recently I received some feedback saying dry-run sample test for assignment 1 is to some extent confusing. After discussion with the team, I disabled it.
Outputs comply to the specification will be manually marked correct, which is essentially the Description PDF file, and instructions below in the page, excluding forum discussion posted and answered by students/ tutors.
Note: Spec current version is: Final version updated on 6th Mar.
Cheers,
Chaoran
Hi all,
Many enquiries upon the last option in Q5, Quiz 1 raises today...
And I reviewed it. It is true that code in the last option will also end up with the same table , as defined in SQLAlchemy.
Thus I will add 1 mark to all submitted students whose mark is not 6/6.
Thanks,
Chaoran
Hi all,
Based received some queries on assignment 1, specificity Q4, here we make some clarifications.
Also noted that in Q4 , we consider accidents and weather condition only at district level. We do expect you match based on District Name . Also for time, you shall match on "Generated"
We noticed 1 may appears as 1.0 in your outputs, as for this problem, it is because pandas treat all data as float. So to make your For this reason, both 1 and 1.0 will be marked correct .
Regards
Chaoran
Quiz 2 released, due on 23:00 10th,Mar AEDT. Same as Quiz 1, you only can submit once.
Quiz 1: response 227/233, class average: 5.1/6
As there a few students asked the duplicated records problem during the lecture yesterday, we make a revision and change the sample test. Please refer to the sample test to check your correctness.
Hi all,
We will have a Q&A section for Assignment 1 in the first 15 min in the lecture tomorrow(Tue. 26 Feb. 2019).
Regards,
Chaoran
Released, due on 3rd Mar 23:00 AEDT.
Hi all,
I believe there may be some issue up on coordinate precision after transformation in Q5 .
And regarding to this issue, I modified give spec and now you can upload your own map.png by
give cs9321 assn1 a1.py map.png
Or alternatively, you can still
give cs9321 assn1 a1.py
Bugs on auto-testing are noticed and will be checked, and please email me a copy of your code so we can reproduce your issue.
Regards,
Chaoran
Hi all,
Format checking is now available for Assignment 1 for both written files and screen outputs, and it will run automatically when you submit.
You can submit as many as you can with no penalty before due.
Please noted as an quick test for submission purpose, not all lines in your produced files are checked .
Quizz 1 will be made available before next Monday and due next Friday.
If any problem regarding to this assignment, slides, lecture recordings, please leave a comment in the forum.
For other issues please email to cs9321 AT cse DOT unsw DOT edu DOT au .
Cheers,
Chaoran
