Monday (16th Nov) 11am - 12pm, Level 4 consultation room
Tuesday (17th Nov) 2pm-3pm, Level 4 consultation room
I will be away from 30th October till 10th November.
I am going to have a couple of consultation sessions before the exam. I will announce the times after I am back.
Don't forget to fill in Quiz 4.
1. Book your time. The available timeslots are shown in the demo session page in the Assignment 2 section
2. Submit your source code by the deadline. Make sure that you clean your project directories. The size should not be over 15MB (current size limit in the submission system).
3. Turn up on time. You will be using your own computer to demo. When the demo starts, you will download your submission, unpack them into your environment to setup/run everything.
4. Prepare your scenario - some test data, test workflow scenarios. I will be asking some questions about the implementation throughout the demo.
For late submissions, the late penalty policy is the same as Assignment 1. You should still submit your solution when you are ready, and then contact me later to organise a demo time separately.
I've uploaded a marking template for the demo. The submission specification is setup in GIVE, but somehow the link between GIVE and WebCMS3 is broken at the moment.
But you can still submit the files through the give command.
[UPDATE] The submission from WebCMS3 now works as well.
This week's lecture is delivered by two guest speakers: Prof. Boualem Benatallah (from CSE) and Graham Lea (from Tyro Payments ) on API/services engineering and micro-services. These are very timely topics and I am sure you will find the talks very helpful.
The last quiz will be released next week - and I will make it due Friday or Saturday Week 12 ...
I will also have to manually go through the Quiz answers (it is a new system and correcting errors is not easy at the moment) and make sure that I will NOT penalise the quiz response if the question itself had an error.
Also, do not forget to book the demo sessions with me.
I had to swap the lecture order a little so that we could invite students from other classes as well. The guest lecture will be by Prof. Boualem Benatallah (from CSE) and Graham Lea (from Tyro Payments ) on API/services engineering and micro-services.
The spec is linked from the Assignment 2 page now. Please read it before the lecture this week. I will go through it during the lecture.
There is a free online course offering on BPM - the lecturers are the world leaders in this area, so if you are interested in the topics, worth having a look ...
Upcoming MOOC on "Fundamentals of Business Process Management"
The submission system is open. You can upload the following files: ImportDownloadService.zip, SOAPCurrencyConvertService.zip, MarketDataUtilService.zip, MarketDataDemoApp.zip, MarketDataClientApp.zip, README.txt
Quiz 2 will open from Friday this week. I am going to setup the submission system on Thursday night. So, Thursday 12pm is your last deadline for registering groups. Anyone left (i.e., not belonging to any group) will be allocated to system default groups (as groups of one person).
I have linked a submission guide in the Assignment 1 page. Note: the submission system is not open yet. The guide is out now to tell you how to prepare for submission.
I just noticed that the Echo recordings for the last two weeks did not capture the screen, just the audio. The facility office tells me that there is a problem with the HDMI and the capturing device. So, although it is nice to have more screen space to play with during the lecture, I will switch back to projecting through VGA. Funny no one reported it. Anyone watching?????
I have to set up a file submission method with WebCMS3 to complete the spec. That will come a bit later. The spec is released now so that you can start working on it ...
UPDATE:
Quiz1
is running now. It will be open for access from 11pm 14th August Friday. Submission is
due on 11pm 22nd August Saturday.
Go to Menu, Activities. You can
only submit ONCE
. The system will automatically release the results on 9am 23rd August.
Also, please find a partner to work on the assignments together and register yourselves as a group (Under Menu, Groups). Even if you decide to work alone, still create a group to register it, as the assessment results will be recorded per group registration details.
There is no scheduled activity in Week 1 other than the intro lecture. See you at Matthews D Thursday 3pm.
