Project marks have just been released. When you check your provisional project marks, you will see three fields:
I will be emailing you a short report which outlines where you have lost marks for your report. I will also put a forum post explaining the common mistakes that the students made.
I used the phrase "provisional project mark" earlier because we have not performed plagiarism check on your project. So the results may change after we have gone through those checks. I want to stress that, if your submitted work is your own, there is nothing to worry about.
You can check your marks at:

The COMP9334 exam will take place tomorrow (Friday, 3 May).
I have updated the solution of the sample exam to correct a number of errors. I want to thank those students who pointed out those errors. You can see the latest version on WebCMS3. The latest version will also be available within Inspera.
I've been asked by the exam unit to relay to you the following information on Secure Exam Browser (SEB).
All the best with your exam tomorrow.
You will get your project marks within the next half an hour. I will send another update to let you know.
Please note that the sample exam was released at 2pm last Friday. You can access it via the COMP9334 Moodle site. As mentioned in the lecture, please do not submit the exam as you will no longer be able to access it.
I've also posted the solution to the sample exam on the WebCMS3 site.
The Assignment results are now available.
You can check your marks at this link:

I will be emailing your marked report.pdf where I have put some comments in the pdf file. In order for you to better understand those comments, I will create three threads (one for each question) on the course forum which explains the common problems that are found in the Assignment. I aim to get the emails and forum threads out in the next hour or so. I would appreciate if you read the forum threads before making any query.
I've corrected two errors in the expressions of the probability density functions in the project. I've uploaded a new version of the project spec a moment ago. My apologies for the errors.
The COMP9334 exam will be held during the exam period of this term. You will receive a provisional timetable from the university later this week.
The exam is in-person and invigilated. The university will run the exam.
You will take the exam on a web-based exam platform called Inspera. We will provide an Inspera-based sample exam.
You can learn more about Inspera @ UNSW at:
https://www.student.unsw.edu.au/exams/inspera
https://www.student.unsw.edu.au/exams/inspera/on-campus
We will provide more information in Week 10.
The project is now available. To view it, go to the course website and look for the Project link on the menu.
The project is on discrete event simulation. We have completed our lectures on discrete event simulation so you are ready to work on the project.
Week 6 is flexibility week and there won't be any lectures.
I will release the project early next week.
The submission portal has now been set up.
The assignment is now available. To view it, go to the course website and look for the Assignment link on the menu.
You should be able to attempt Question 1 of the assignment now, and work on Questions 2 and 3 after this week's lectures.
Note that the submission portal has not been set up yet because of some technical issues. I will let you know when it has been set up.
The technical issue for recording the Friday lecture has unfortunately not been resolved it.
You will find a link to the recording for this morning's lecture under Week 2B at the course website.
I will be able to link that recording to Echo360 later this afternoon so that you have all the recordings at one place. I am not able to say when because Echo360 is still processing that video.
Unfortunately, the lecture recordings for today's (Friday, Week 1) is broken into two parts due to a technical issue between my laptop and the system in the lecture theatre.
My apologies for the problem.
I am writing to you regarding two aspects of the course.
Lecture recording : You can access the lecture recordings via the Moodle site for COMP9334. If you attempted to access the recordings via Moodle earlier today but could not, that was because of a set up problem and that has now been fixed.
Forum : We will be using the Ed forum for course discussion. If you head to the course website ( http://www.cse.unsw.edu.au/~cs9334 ) and click on the link "Forum", you will find instructions to enrol yourselves in the forum.
Dear All,
Welcome to COMP9334! I would like to draw your attention to the following:
I look forward to exploring capacity planning with you this term. See you in-person or online on Tuesday.
Chun Tung Chou, Lecturer-in-charge
