Hope you've enjoyed this course, and best wishes on your next journey.
For any queries, please do contact your mentor directly.
Hi everyone,
Thank you and congratulations on making it to the conclusion of the course. We'll return assessment results to you as soon as we've completed the marking process. It's been a pleasure watching so many great projects develop. Stay safe, and I wish you all the best on your next journey.
If you would take a moment to fill in a myExperience survey for the course it would be much appreciated.
The survey can be accessed either through the myExperience survey link on the moodle course website; or using your <

Hi All,
For the project report submission, please note - there is also an extension to the deadline, as detailed below:
The new deadline for your team's project report submission is the beginning of your team's Week 10 lab.
Please ensure that you have submitted this assessment by this new deadline.
Hi All,
For the software quality assessment submission, please note - there is an extension to the deadline, as detailed below:
The new deadline for your team's software quality submission is the beginning of your team's Week 10 lab.
Please ensure that you have submitted this assessment by this new deadline.
Hi Everyone,
Below are some additional Q&A you might find useful:
Q1: If my team's software quality submission exceeds 100MB in size, how do I submit my software quality assessment?
A1: Please contact your mentor if your software quality submission exceeds 100MB to make alternative submission arrangements.
Q2: Is there a WebCMS submission required for the final demonstration/presentation?
A2: No. This will just be a demonstration/presentation that takes place during your lab.
Q3: Should all team members speak during the final demonstration/presentation?
A3: Yes, each member should speak during the demo.
Q4: What should we focus on in the final demonstration/presentation?
A4: Please do focus on the final demo assessment guidelines. For example: do focus on demonstrating and presenting functionality; the user interfaces used to facilitate functionality; the technical quality, engineering practices and methodology used for your project; and ensuring you address all aspects mentioned on the assessment guidelines for the final demonstration/presentation. Full details found on the course WebCMS site by navigating to Course Work > Assessments > Assessment Guidelines.
Hi All,
Please note that the final demo in Week 10 will differ from the progressive demos - do be sure to take a look at the assessment guidelines for this (found on the course WebCMS site by navigating to Course Work > Assessments > Assessment Guidelines).
This final demo should be based on your submitted system source code (where final source code is submitted as part of the software quality assessment).
Hi All,
Submission links and instructions are now also available for remaining non-demo assessments (please take a look at WebCMS course website: go to Course Work > Assessments).
Hi Everyone,
A few notices for this week:
A reminder that this week, (week 6), is flexibility week, and there are no scheduled labs for comp3900/9900 during this week.
The submission link for Retrospective A is open. Please do take a look at instructions for submission given on the WebCMS course website: go to Course Work > Assessments > Retrospective A > Retrospective A.
Note that only one member (the Scrum Master) of the team submits the retrospective report on behalf of the whole team.
If you have any queries during this time please contact your mentor.
Hi Everyone,
A friendly reminder that your first progressive demo (A) takes place next week.
Note that you'll need to be present at such demos otherwise you cannot receive marks for these.
For your retrospective, do try to conduct your retrospective meeting as soon as is possible after the demo.
You need to be present at your retrospective meetings to receive a mark for the retrospectives.
Please do make sure that you familiarise yourself with the assessment guidelines for the progressive demo and retrospective. (see WebCMS Course Website > Assessments > Assessment Guidelines).
Hi Everyone,
Please note that the submission page for the project proposal is now open. This proposal is due on Sunday 21 June 2020 at 23.59pm.
Please do take a look at instructions for submission given on the WebCMS course website: go to Course Work > Assessments > Project Proposal > Proposal.
Note that only one member (the Scrum Master) of the team submits the Project Proposal on behalf of the whole team.
Hi Everyone,
Lecture 3 is now available on echo360, which you can access by clicking on Lectures from the course moodle site.
Slides are also available for lectures under Course Work > Lectures on the course WebCMS site (click on Download for the lecture needed).
Hi Everyone,
Please follow the instructions given on
this page
to join GitHub Classroom
(under Course Work > GitHub Classroom, on the course WebCMS site).
Hi Everyone,
A few important items for COMP3900/9900:
- If you do not have a team of 5 (or 4), please email your mentor as soon as possible. Your mentor's name and email are mentioned on the Team Formation Forums page for your lab on the course WebCMS site.
- Lecture 2 is now available on echo360, which you can access by clicking on Lectures from the course moodle site. Slides are also available for lectures under Course Work > Lectures on the course WebCMS site (click on Download for the lecture needed).
- Please make sure you have looked at the project & proposal specifications (see Assessment Guidelines under Assessments on the course WebCMS site). Importantly do make sure that you are covering all project objectives in your project, as this is one of the assessed items.
- Note that your progressive demos take place in the week 5 and 8 labs. A part of your proposal needs to define the start and end dates for all sprints envisaged during term. Make sure that the sprints you define allow you to undertake a demo in each of those labs. You'll need to be present at these demos otherwise you cannot receive marks for these.
- Also make sure that your Sprint dates will allow you to carry out a retrospective meeting prior to each of your labs in Weeks 7 and 9. Again, you cannot receive a mark for a retrospective if you are not at that retrospective's meeting.
Hi Everyone,
Lecture 1 is now also available on echo360.
Hi Everyone,
