• Instructions for Final Demo on Thursday

Posted by Madhushi Bandara Monday 20 April 2020, 12:40:57 PM.

We will have the final project demonstrations on Thursday.

• The schedule is the same as in Week 7, we are using the same sessions formed in Microsoft Teams (except for MergeConflict, THCH and BlackHats). Timetable is available under Week 10 lectures for your reference.
• Marking schema is also same as week 7, but we expect them to present a well-developed prototype and no slide shows unless absolutely necessary.
• Shortlisted teams for the Maquire prize will be notified by the end of the week. Those teams will have one week to prepare a video (10 min), presenting your prototype demo. There is no need for special preparations and you can even redo and record the same presentation you prepare for Thursday.

Regarding the final report and Github repository.

• Deadline for the final report is Monday week 11 (27th) 5 p.m.
• After this deadline, mentors will do a Github code inspection to make sure the repository reflects what students mentioned in the report- features/architecture and technology stack.
• Make sure to include any concerns you have about the unequal contribution of your team members at the end of your report or contact your mentor about it.

• Preparing for D3 Demo on Thursday

Posted by Madhushi Bandara Tuesday 31 March 2020, 03:44:57 PM.

Demo session for the D3 will happen this Thursday over Microsoft Teams. It is important that you all join the session group allocated to your team by tomorrow.

Refer to this document for the details about schedule and setup details:

https://webcms3.cse.unsw.edu.au/SENG2021/20T1/reso...

As some students had trouble joining the sessions via given links, we added you to respective session groups in Microsoft Teams using your UNSW email address. If you cannot see your session appearing in Microsoft Teams by now, try joining the session via given link or contact me at k.bandara@unsw.edu.au.

Make sure you test your microphone and screen sharing abilities before the session starts and join the session on time for your team's presentations. We recommend all teams to create your own private groups and do a test run of the demo beforehand.

• Workshop assessment

Posted by Fethi Rabhi Thursday 26 March 2020, 11:46:03 AM.

There has just been a faculty decision that engineering courses, except for project/thesis courses, will move to pass/fail (SY/FL) by default. As Software Engineering Workshops” are project based courses with no exam, they are not concerned by the decision and will be assessed normally.

• Moving mentoring meetings online

Posted by Madhushi Bandara Wednesday 18 March 2020, 05:20:21 PM.

As you may already know, we are moving all mentoring meetings online. We recommend Microsoft Team as UNSW students and staff can use it freely. If not already done so, teams are free to chose a platform discussing with your mentor. Mentors or students are not needed to visit university in person.

Most mentors will conduct meeting on the usual time-slot. It is the team's responsibility to contact your mentor, decide a suitable platform and time-slot (if changes are necessary) and invite the mentor to join the call.

We plan to conduct Week 7 Demos online as well, and we will keep you informed regarding that.

• Possible to conduct mentoring via video call

Posted by Madhushi Bandara Monday 16 March 2020, 10:01:42 AM.

Teams have the option to conduct mentoring meetings via video calls (some options are Skype, Zoom, Microsoft Team or Facebook Messenger).

It is the responsibility of the team members to set up a platform and contact your mentor.

• Mentoring Timetable for Thursday

Posted by Madhushi Bandara Wednesday 04 March 2020, 11:03:41 AM.

Finalised mentoring timetable is updated under week 2 lectures. This timetable will be followed until the end of semester, except for demo presentation weeks.

New Team is looking for more members, please come to Ainsworth 201 at 12:30 p.m. if you are still looking for a team.

• Finalised Mentoring Timetable

Posted by Madhushi Bandara Thursday 27 February 2020, 09:52:16 AM.

Finalised mentoring timetable is under Week 2 lectures now. Mentoring happens at three locations and meeting times of some teams scheduled for 12 slot were shifter by 10 minutes to allow mentors to move between rooms.

Decler's teams will be mentored by Prof. Fethi today.

If your team is looking for more members, please contact k.bandara@unsw.edu.au ASAP.

• Mentoring today: change in Rooms

Posted by Fethi Rabhi Thursday 27 February 2020, 08:18:06 AM.

There has been a mistake in the published timetable. Usually we have the same room for 3 hours, but this year we have been allocated different rooms:

Thu 11:00AM - 12:00PM - Colombo LG02
Thu 12:00PM - 01:00PM - Ainsworth 201
Thu 01:00PM - 02:00PM - Law Building 203

So depending on your mentoring time, you will need to go to the appropriate room. Apologies for the confusion. This will be corrected at the next update of the timetable.

• Mentoring Timetable for Thursday

Posted by Madhushi Bandara Tuesday 25 February 2020, 09:21:56 AM.

Draft mentoring timetable for Thursday is available under the week 2 lectures. Please note that this may subject to change. If you are looking for a group, or need more members for your team, please contact course admin at k.bandara@unsw.edu.au. Also, group members don’t have to be in the same seminar group, as long as all of you can attend a common time-slot.
