A friendly reminder about the showcase this coming Friday 4-6pm.
----
Dear Thesis B Students,
Each year we organise a Thesis Showcase where outstanding Thesis C students will show off their work to the School staff, their fellow students and a wider community. We are delighted to invite you to attend the Showcase for 2024 where 16 students will be presenting their work in an in-person interactive poster and demonstration session.
The Showcase will at 4-6pm on Friday, 6 Dec 2024, in the Innovation Central Sydney located in the basement of Building K17. (There is a chance that some students may be presenting at an additional venue on the ground floor of K17 and we will update the information if this is the case.)
The current list of students who will be taking part is at:

Please do come and support your fellow students!
Chun Tung Chou
CSE Thesis Coordinator
You can find the presentation schedule for Thesis B presentations at here (UNSW login required) You are welcome to attend other students' presentations to support them. For those who haven't informed us on your presentation details, you can still add it to here (WebCMS3 login required) and we will add to the schedule.
A reminder to fill in the Google forms to inform us about your upcoming Thesis B presentation:
----------
We have written to you earlier this morning on the Week 11's presentation. We recommend that you do it in-person rather than online. The minimum audience of your presentation is your supervisor and assessor, but it will be good if you can deliver your presentation to a wider audience including other thesis students. It will also be great if you can attend other students' presentations .
In order that you can deliver an in-person presentation that other students can attend, we have reserved rooms in K17 for you to use or we can book a room for you. You can use the Google Forms link here (WebCMS3 login required) to:
We will compile the information and announce a schedule so that you can attend other students' presentations. Although we are not making in-person presentation to a wider audience compulsory this term, we strongly encourage you to do it.
We ask you to provide the information to us by Thur 14 Nov (Week 10) so that we can announce an initial schedule on Friday of Week 10.
Dear Thesis B Students,
In Week 11, you are required to give a demo of your thesis project. We prefer that you do your demo face-to-face and include a wider audience (in addition to your supervisor and assessor) so that you can get more feedback. I will send out another notice shortly on arranging the demo.
Key facts about your demo:
Submit the demo slides to TMS by 10pm 24th Nov Sunday Week 11 (firm). If you cannot submit it by the deadline due to some valid reasons, please contact thesis admin for an extension ( supervisor approval email must be provided ).
If you cannot find a suitable time to do the demo in week 11, you can do it later, but you MUST submit your slides by the due date. Otherwise, you will get the late penalty.
If you have further information to be included, please let me know. Thanks.
Dear 24T3 Thesis B students,
The Thesis Management System (TMS) has unfortunately gone buggy. If you log onto TMS, it will say that your Thesis B deliverable will be due In Nov, which is correct. But, it also says that you have an overdue deliverable which was due in August, which is a bug. This is to let you know that the issue is on our end, not yours.
I should be able to get the problem fixed once our support staff can resume work. My apologies for the problems.
The recording is now available at the course website under Week 2 of Week-by-week.
A reminder on the Thesis talk "How to write a good thesis?" in Week 2. The talk will be given by Prof. Gernot Heiser who is an award winning professor from CSE and his work has been used in billions of devices worldwide.
The talk will be at 1pm, Thur 19 Sept 2024 (Week 2). This is a hybrid seminar. We encourage you to attend in person. The physical location is Design Next Studio, Level 5, Ainsworth Building (J17).
For online attendance, the Zoom login details are
here on the Thesis B WebCMS3 website
(login required)
I look forward to seeing you in the talk. The talk will be recorded and made available.

Welcome to Thesis B!
I hope you had a good break and are ready to get Thesis B started. Please send an email to your supervisor to find a regular meeting time so that you can resume your Thesis work.
There is only one deliverable for Thesis B: demo in week 11. Some useful resources at the
Thesis B website
are: marking criteria for Thesis B demo, sample Thesis B demo slides, etc.
It is important to point out that, although the deliverable is in Week 11, you will need to work steadily each week in order to complete the plan that you have made for Thesis B.
I will send a separate announcement in a moment on "How to write a good thesis" talk in Week 2.
All the best for your Thesis B!
