Students are required to attend a guided laboratory from Weeks 1-7 where they will learn programming IoT devices. Laboratory worksheets will be available below. There will be a lab demonstrator assisting the laboratory.
The equipment to be used is the SensotTag and Rasberry Pi. Each student will be loaned a SensorTag and a Raspberry Pi 2 Model B+ starter kit (which consists of 1 Raspberry Pi and auxillary equipment) for doing the laboratory and the project. The students will need to sign a loan form and undertake to return the pack in good condition. The devices will be handed out in the laboratory session in Week 1. You must return them at the end of your project demo and interview.
Each lab has an assessment exercise that comes with it. You are given a week to complete these exercises and you will need to demonstrate this to the lab demonstrator in the next laboratory session. Note that for although there is no laboratory exercise for Week 7, you will still need to attend the laboratory to do the demonstration. Each exercise is worth 5 marks. You will need to submit your code for marking, see instructions below.
You can submit your assessment exercise using the give command in an xterm from any CSE machine. Make sure you are in the same directory as your code, then do the following:
