  • a2 automark script (simplified) available

Posted by Raymond Wong Friday 09 August 2024, 01:21:19 AM.

As mentioned at the last live lecture, marking each a2 may take quite awhile (as we need to allocate enough real time to accommodate usr+sys time for each test, extra time to run valgrind, and it has totally 30 tests). We still aim to email you the results early next week (or else will keep you informed).

Meanwhile, if you would like to check / run those tests. You can do so now by log into db-perftest, simply go inside your folder that contains your makefile and program source files and run: ~cs9319/a2/automark

As mentioned at the live lecture, the above automark script is provided for your reference. It only checks for output correctness and approximate the usr+sys time using real time (with additional buffer time). It does not include the checking of index file size, memory usages or the actual usr+sys time (whilst these constraints are checked as separate processes during our actual marking). If you have questions regarding running the test, please post at the Ed forum or stop by the consultation this Friday.

The script includes tests using the following datasets: 1/3 small; 1/3 medium; and 1/3 large.

Warning : if your program is slow, it may take a long time to run through all 30 tests.

  • Revised a1 automark script

Posted by Raymond Wong Wednesday 10 July 2024, 11:33:00 AM.

~cs9319/a1/automark has been modified such that lencode test6 and test7 only check the file sizes (similar to test8 and test9 now). This is to allow the flexibility of the 3 byte index encoding.
