  • COMP3900/9900 Week 10 Reminders/Notices

Posted by Matthew Sladescu Monday 02 August 2021, 08:47:30 AM.

    Hi Everyone,

    A few friendly reminders/notices for COMP3900/9900:

    * Remember that your software quality & report submissions are due today at 22:00. Note that the instructions on how to submit these can be accessed from the Assessments Page (under Course Work > Assessments on the course WebCMS site). Your final demonstration/presentation should use the same final system you submit for your software quality.

    * There's a final wrap-up lecture, available on echo360 at 9am today, which you can access by clicking on Lectures from the course moodle site (slides also available from then on the course WebCMS site (under Course Work > Lectures - click on Download for the lecture)).

    * The peers evaluation to be submitted by each student individually is due this Friday at 22:00, with details for submitting this also accessible from the Assessments page and further detailed in the assessment guidelines (under Course Work > Assessments on the course WebCMS site).

  • COMP3900/9900 Week 8 Announcements/Reminders

Posted by Matthew Sladescu Wednesday 21 July 2021, 03:35:09 PM.

    Hi Everyone,

Hope you are all keeping safe and well.

Below are some reminders/notices that you might find useful:

    * Please note that the final demonstration/presentation in Week 10 will differ from the progressive demos - do be sure to take a look at the assessment guidelines for this (found on the course WebCMS site by navigating to Course Work > Assessments > Assessment Guidelines (pages 13-14)).

    * You don't need to submit anything on WebCMS for the final demonstration/presentation - this should just be a live demonstration/presentation that takes place in your online lab in Week 10.

    * Please do make sure you're at your online lab session for the final demonstration/presentation and contribute by at least speaking for part of this demonstration/presentation in week 10 (team members not present, or who don’t speak for part of the demonstration/presentation, cannot get marks for it).

    * Please also note: submission details for other remaining assessments can be found on WebCMS under Course Work > Assessments.

  • COMP3900/9900 Week 5 Announcements/Reminders

Posted by Matthew Sladescu Monday 28 June 2021, 09:35:47 AM.

    Hi Everyone,

A friendly reminder that your first progressive demo takes place in your lab this week.

If you wish, for the purposes of presentation in the progressive demos, you can use your own laptop/desktop (through the blackboard collaborate ultra screen-sharing feature). However you should be continuously testing your system on one of the 2 environments mentioned on page 8 of the assessment guidelines, as your final system will be marked on one of these environments as described on those guidelines.

Similarly, for the final demo/presentation you can also use your own machine for the purposes of presentation (via blackboard collaborate ultra screen sharing), however the final demo/presentation should be using the same system submitted for the software quality submission (which needs to be targeted to, and work on one of the 2 environments as described on page 8 of the assessment guidelines).

    * For your retrospective, do try to conduct your retrospective meeting as soon as is possible after the demo. You need to be present at your retrospective meetings to receive a mark for the retrospectives.

Please do make sure that you familiarise yourself with the assessment guidelines for the progressive demo and retrospective. (see WebCMS Course Website > Assessments > Assessment Guidelines).

    * Note that all projects are assessed according to the assessment guidelines for all assessments (eg: regardless of which one of the 2 environments on page 8 of these guidelines you choose for your project, or whether you are using the mobile inspector mode for your project on 1 of these 2 environments).
