Week 10: Project work, Final Project Demo and MyExperience

1. There will be no lecture in Week 10. However, the tutors and I will be available during the scheduled lab and lecture times, respectively, to answer any last-minute questions about your projects.
2. The final project demo will be on 11/08/26 (Tuesday).
   • If you have any special requirements on the demo time slot, please send us an email before COB, 05/08/26, Wednesday as we aim to release the demo schedule on Thursday, 06/08/26.
   • If you will hang out with us during lunch time, Please enter your Dietary option before COB, 05/08/26.
3. Thanks to all of you who have completed myExperience so far. If you haven’t yet participated, you can find the myExperience link on your Moodle course page or look for the link in your student email.Your honest and constructive thoughts are valued, and help not only students taking this course, but myself and teaching staff across UNSW to create positive changes in their courses moving forward. Your thoughts also make a difference for the next group of students taking these courses, just as thoughts from students taking courses you plan to take make a difference for you. Please know that myExperience is confidential and your identity is not included in reports. Results of the survey are not made available until your course results are released.
4. To encourage the participatory rates for MyExperience. We will provide bonus marks for participation with the following equation, i.e., 0.25 mark if MyExperience return rate more than 25%, 0.5 mark if MyExperience return rate is more than 50%, 0.75 mark if MyExperience return rate is more than 75%, 1 mark if MyExperience return rate is 100%. We have just over 10% return rate currently.
5. The Peer Assessment for your group development project is now open on Moodle . 1) Open the "Project Peer Assessment" module. 2) If prompted to make a submission, enter brief sample text such as “Hello.” 3) Assess each teammate based on their contributions to the project, including system design, implementation, testing, documentation, and related project-management tasks. If contributions were uneven, please provide a detailed justification for your assessment. 4) Submit your peer assessment by COB, Tuesday, 12/08/26. Only assessments submitted by the deadline will be considered for individual grade adjustments.

Course Consultation — Venue Change (29 July 2026)

Please note that the course consultation on 29 July 2026 will be held in G02, K17 , rather than Room 606, K17 , due to a timetable clash. The time remains unchanged: 13:00–13:55 .

Week 9: Guest lectures and recap

• We will have two existing guest lectures from CSIRO and EasyIoT respectively this week. As discussed last week, we will provide bonus marks for participation with 0.5 mark for each guest lecture, and will distribute check-in sheets in the lectures to collect attendance rates, and hope to see you there. I will also conclude the course at the end of Wednesday's lecture.
• ProblemSet is due at 17:00, Friday. Labs and consultation are run as usual. Please attend them if you need help/clarification etc. for the ProblemSet (and projects).
• Team UrbanIoT has requested permission to collect occupancy data for their project during this Wednesday’s lecture. We generally aim to support such project activities. However, if you have any concerns, please email the course account or submit them via the Anonymous Feedback form by COB, Tuesday, 28 July 2026.
• The final project demo will be on 11/08/26 (Tuesday).
  • The marking rubrics for both demo and report have been released.
